The bedroom to the back of the house has not yet been added on, although the perimeter foundation has been poured. There is a cathedrial ceiling in the the front living room and bedroom, and flat throughout the rest of the house. The walls are sheetrocked and textured and I hope to be painting in the winter. This will be so fun, finally my own home and the colors I want! Yippeee!!
I have painted the plywood sub-floor in the bedroom a fern green and the hall way/ computer area is a salmon-terrecotta color. I was preparing the floor in the big room this summer, and realized it was just too much to do. I am thinking of using a vinyl in a wood floor pattern for that room until we can afford the cork/tile/wood that we will have one day. I need to have that floor in a finished enough state to be able to keep it clean and I love rugs ..so a great excuse for a really nice rug or two now!
The finish electrical and plumbing still needs to be done, as well as our whole power and water pressure system. This means a quiet, remote start generator, a deep cycle battery array, a good sine wave inverter and eventually solar panels, as well as a pressure tank or pump for water pressure. This is the next phase we hope to accomplish. After that, with a few appliances, we should be able to move in. It will be unfinished as far as trim & cabinets, and many other details, but livable.
